{ Venice Garden Tour }

Experience the beauty of Venice this Spring on a nine-day garden and cultural tour with noted Seattle designers Mark Henry and Bruce Bond.

With this pair's deep knowledge of Venice's horticultural and historical marvels, as well as Mark's close friendships with many world-class Venetian artisans, this is a unique opportunity to see and learn about Venice's cultural heritage from two passionate guides and to meet artists keeping alive Venice's artistic traditions.

Mark Henry is a renowned Northwest landscape designer and an experienced group tour leader to Venice. Bruce Bond, owner and lead designer of Vertumni Fine Landscaping & Gardening, is fluent in Italian and a specialist in Venetian history, art, and food.

 No detail has been overlooked to make your visit truly memorable. Besides enjoying a thoughtfully conceived schedule of sightseeing to the city's architectural and horticultural treasures, you'll be luxuriously comfortable with nine nights' accommodations at Hotel Flora. An intimate former palazzo adjacent to St. Mark's Square, Hotel Flora is the only Venetian hotel to be featured in Great Escapes Italy (Taschen, 2010), the last word in deluxe travel in Italy.

In addition to touring Venice landmarks (with plenty of leisure time to explore on your own), trip highlights will include a train journey to Padua to visit Orto Botanico, a botanical garden founded in 1545, and a canal cruise on the Brenta with stops at private villas. Through Mark's personal contacts, you'll have the chance to visit the studios of leading artisans and will receive special access to the Murano glassworks and Fortuny fabric museum, to which Mark has contributed art work.

This fall is an extra special time to visit Venice since the roster for this year's Biennale di Venezia encompasses the best from the worlds of art and music. You'll be witness to the finest talents of today and the Renaissance all in one glorious setting.

Whether this is your first visit or your tenth to the place Italians call La Serenissima, this trip promises to both educate and inspire. Travel dates are not yet fixed. If you are interested, contact us at bruce@vertumni.com or 206-371-7746.
